New SMART Board Technology integrated on BCS campus!

In our continued quest to be a school of excellence, in July 2007 our 3rd - 8th grade classrooms and Music Department were enhanced with the addition of SMART Boards. These interactive whiteboards provide an immediate, hands-on experience, motivating students to learn and increasing student achievement. By providing a large area for exploring and manipulating computer material, the interactive whiteboard promotes active, inquiry-based learning and energizes classroom lessons with a dynamic experience. The key to this experience is touch. Students simply touch the surface to select icons, navigate websites and move images - their finger becomes the mouse! With their finger, they can manipulate math shapes, go on a WebQuest or give a presentation. With a specialized pen, they can add notes in digital ink. The SMART Board engages students' different learning styles, whether visual, auditory or kinesthetic.
