Bethany ChristianSchool believes that every student should be instructed at his/her skill level in math and reading, creating appropriate challenge and growth opportunities for them. To achieve this, in first through fifth grades, students are placed in skill-based reading classes based on their sight-reading words, reading fluency, and reading comprehension.
When students arrive in middle school, the primary focus shifts toward elements of literature and critical thinking about texts, while students continue to develop reading fluency and comprehension.
As with reading, students in first through eighth grade are placed in math classes based upon their personal math skills. This allows students at BethanyChristian School to learn at appropriate levels, which provides opportunity for them to study through Algebra II.
