2009-10 Board Members
Fred Borns, President
Fred Borns is the current BCS board secretary having served on the board since 2003. Previously he served as board president (2006-2007) and vice president (2007-2008). He has also served on the Marketing, Facilities, and Finance Committees. A graduate of Stanford University, Fred is employed by Honeywell Aerospace as manager of a small group of engineers involved in the research and development of advanced jet engines. Fred's wife, Margaret, is an active member of the BCS Marketing and Development Committee and their son, Thomas, attended BCS from first through eighth grade graduating in 2007.
Rebekah Whitehouse, Vice President
Rebekah Whitehouse was most recently the national Chief Marketing Officer for CIGNA Group, Dental & Vision Care with more than 20 years of experience in the health care industry and is a seasoned strategy, marketing, sales and operations professional.
She is a member of the marketing and development committee, as well as leading an ad-hoc committee for long term strategic planning. Rebekah has previously served as board secretary for Camp Fire Boys and Girls. She is also a troop leader for Girl Scouts.
Rebekah and her family attend Bethany Community Church. She is married to Mike Whitehouse and their two children attend BCS where Sierra is in 5th grade and Chase is in 2nd grade.
Dorothy Hines, Treasurer
Dorothy L. Hines retired as a program director from Motorola after thirty-three years of service. She has served on several non-profit boards, such as the Phoenix Urban League and Goodwill. Dorothy is currently pursuing her Master’s in Theology degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, and also serves as the Bethany Christian School Board President. Additionally, Dorothy chairs the facilities expansion committee and the board’s executive committee. She attends Dayspring United Methodist Church.

Phil James
Phil James has a Business Management degree from San Jose State University. He is the IT Director for Central Christian Church, his home church, and chairs the BCS technology committee. Phil is married to Janelle, his wife of 21 years. His daughter, Alexis, is in the 6th grade at Bethany and his son, Kyle, a BCS alumnus, is a junior at Valley Christian High School.
